This further training for equine therapists with Stuart McGregor, one of the founders of animal osteopathy and the UK’s leading postgraduate-level instructor in the subject, is a rare opportunity to deepen your knowledge of structural function and pathology, from the perspective of the interaction of skeletal and soft tissue, as well as neurology. While heightening your ability to accurately assess problems that are impeding movement, you will also learn a series of joint articulations that will help you to develop higher level skills in non-invasive manipulation to progress the healing process.

Equine body articulation is the gentle manipulation and mobilisation of all the joints of the body, including the spine, neck and pelvis, legs, shoulders and hips. It helps to maintain nerve supply from the vertebral joints, improving blood supply and drainage from all tissues, reducing stiffness in the joints, and helping maintain flexibility.

All the practical addresses are underpinned by theoretical knowledge that will help you to fully understand and, indeed, feel the condition of both healthy and non-healthy joints.

About Stuart McGregor, D.O.

Canine Body Articulation

To take part, you will need to have been qualified in an equine bodywork modality and have been practising, while qualified, for at least 2 years.

Legal note: While only degree-qualified osteopaths and veterinarians are allowed to practice animal osteopathy in Australia, this course provides skills and a deeper understanding of non-invasive techniques for optimal musculoskeletal alignment, as permitted under the Veterinary Practice Act 2003. You will not be able to use the term ‘osteopath’ to describe your profession or your work.
